Gold Bistro Chinese Restaurant

Chose this place by Googling “Asian Buffet near me” and found this great little place in south Calgary! Very friendly greeting and an explanation that as it was 7 pm if any of the buffet options were missing or running low just to let them know and it would be made up fresh with an intent to not waste food. Options were great: sweet & sour pork, shrimp and broccoli, skinny and fat noodles, stir fry rice, delicious ginger beef , hot & sour soup, wonton soup, salt & pepper squid, chicken and mushrooms, dumplings, sauces, mixed veggies, and more, dessert bar and ice cream selection. The restaurant was spacious, clean bathroom, speedy water refills and lots of people were thanking the staff for a wonderful meal. All positive and priced sensibly we will aim to go again.

I have been going to this place since I was a child and it is still as amazing as it was back then! The buffet experience is really well done and the food is so good! Even taking out for take out is really well done, the staff are so polite! Some of my favourites are the sweet and sour chicken with pineapple and the shrimp chop suey!

Food quality was awesome! Service was somewhat lacking...only once did they return to fill the water glasses. Dessert selection was definitely minimal...but then I did not go here for dessert! Would I go again...most definitely!

Gold Bistro is a hidden gem in a strip mall in Midnapore. All you can eat Chinese buffet was fresh and hot. Family run and super personable staff and excellent service. Funny enough, being our first time eating here, the patrons that overheard we were newbies were so passionate about recommendations. Honestly, everything was just outstanding, fresh and perfectly cooked. Free parking and lots of it. Worth the drive.

The food is fresh and delicious, but what really makes this place my favourite Chinese restaurant, is the owner and staff. He is warm and friendly, and he makes you feel so welcome. The buffet is just the right size and is constantly refreshed so that it stays hot.

I went to this restaurant called Gold Bistro Chinese Restaurant in Southeast Calgary (Mindapore). It was a real hidden gem of a restaurant where you really wouldn't expect to have such fresh Asian cuisine. Such friendly owners and also regulars who were patting the back of the chef and also the owner. Alan immediately greeted us upon entering the restaurant brought us to our table and told us to continue eating and to please enjoy. While he was tending to all the business of the day, he was also ensuring the quality of the food was to be not looked over. While the selection was intimate, they focused extremely on fresh preparedness, quality ingredients, and enhanced delivery of foods, meaning, every time the pans of food were getting low they would actually take the entire pan back in to refill it entirely with fresh vegetables, seafood, cuts of delicately, prepared meats and fresh veggies. I would have to encourage anyone who loves to dine on freshly prepared Asian cuisine to check out and visit gold Bistro Chinese restaurant in southeast Calgary. They offer the best service and they do offer fresh high quality foods at a fantastic value.
